Valiant attempt by Quill to do what has to be the only logical reason for him to do this in the first place. Which is getting Gunther to man up/believe in himself/whatever we’re calling it today.

Quill’s gotta work with what’s there. Besides, there’s no way he can participate in actual bowling. That’s just too silly for words. So if he’s ‘included’ in this, his actual purpose has to be ‘coach Gunther till he actually makes a move on Rosa and restores her faith in him’

Gotta hand it to Quill – he is sharp. But whether hummingbird wings can get the owl off the ground – we’ll have to see…

FaceTime for iPhone generally uses WiFi (we can assume the bowling alley has it), not 3G which would eat up data use. Therefore it’s totally free and dad’s head shouldn’t explode when he sees the bill.

Quill has a better chance of scoring with Rosa than Gunther, lol……..well, ok, technically an equal one.

Brad – Toni…Mr. DeGroot – Mrs. DeGroot…LuAnn – Quill….Knute – Crystal…..Gunther – Rosa……has this strip EVER had two “couples” with comparable looks – like in real life, ha ha?

I believe Luann is just joking around, pretending the ball is too heavy; Gunther should stop talking to Quill, and watch the girls bowl, instead :p

Pretty sure Luann is just having fun pretending the ball is too heavy. Also the bowling ally most likely has Wi-Fi and even if it doesn’t perhaps she has an unlimited data plan.

Yup, they are only in 11th or 12th grade and they are under eighteen.

MikeyJ, I don’t get what the big deal is about lefties. Aren’t they more ambidextrous than anything else? My teacher finally told me to pick a hand and I chose the one every one else used. But, I wrote and used scissors like a lefty for years.

Seriously, I think Gunther has ADD, a psychological disorder. When shyness gets in the way of one establishing a normal healthy relationship with others, esp the opposite sex, these are symptoms of ADD.

Did Luann get conned into taking a ball way too heavy for her? Did Rosa do it? (After all, Rosa is the only real bowler of this group, the one who set it up.) And will anxiety-frozen Gunther take Quill’s more-or-less good advice and seize the day?

Are we to believe that Gunther is NOT shy, but actually has low self esteem? What the heck?

Who the heck tucks in a bowling shirt?

Not if they have unlimited data plans, although I doubt Luann has an international plan.

I love Luann’s goofy side. She seems more relaxed around Rosa than Bernice. Take note Gunther.

Maybe Lu is struggling with that ball because it is the one she picked for Quill. I wouldn’t be suprised if she rolled his turn as well as hers……..this whole storyline is terribly inane.

am I the only one who’s a little weirded out by the disembodied head that is Quill?

Luann’s bowling ball isn’t too heavy, SHE’S KIDDING AROUND WITH ROSA. Good grief. Gunther caught it & he’s BEHIND HER…“I wish I could relax (goof around) like that…” The thing with Quill is fun/different, & aimed at their generation. Yes, it’s wierd, but ‘Luann’ thought outside the box & came up with a solution. I saw a guy w/ an ipad duct taped to his head/face, screen forward, w/ a baffled, flesh & blood woman standing nearby. A man wearing a military uniform was on the screen, grinning his head off while he asked the baffled woman for a dance (using his friend’s body). Tell me that’s not TOTALLY BIZARRE & 100% AWESOME!! : )Now, let’s just hope Quill never asks Gunther if he can “borrow his body”…

Some left handers who were forced to write with their right hand (in the days when being a leftie was somehow a flaw) developed a rather severe stammer. So I think it depends on the individual.

A couple of points:

As I remember, the different colors for bowling balls indicate weight-for fun, Luann just tried to lift a ball meant for Ox. Gunther has his own ball.

The strip started when Luann was thirteen, but the initial core group has probably been together since preschool! Gunther is extra shy because this is the first crush he has had on a girl whom he hasn’t known since he was three years old.

With that shirt Gunther looks like an extra on the Sapranos.

Luann goes bowling often. ‘;s Rosa who’s new at it.

Not sure that Gunther is “into bowling” but he is into lots of things, via the library, etc.

Ball…too…heavy!

Well, I know a lot of single guys who dismiss women immediately if they have a few extra pounds so I think the shallow thing runs both ways.

I have always been right handed but an injury in my early teens had me wearing a cage on what used to be the longest finger of RH; I wrote all my homework left handed that year and I find myself using both hands for many things. As an amateur artist and crafter, tho’, I do any art with right hand.
