Got the church decorated for Advent. Sunday I will not preach. We will have the Chrismon Service, in celebration of the First Sunday of Advent. This will be followed by Holy Communion. It makes for a very beautiful worship service.

David, my parents’ UMC church had a beautiful Chrismon tree every year. The ladies of the church made all of the ornaments out of [faux] pearls and gold wire. They were beautiful. (Probably still are, I just haven’t seen them in many years.)

    GOOD AFTERNOON YA’LL,

The cookout turned out nice last night at the clubhouse- several pit fires going . we all use them for the dogs to cook, and to do the s’mores plus they added to the ambience. benchs’ place around them for dining and conversation. They had games for the kids and for us older kids too.

    Have a nice weekend…………………………….

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

I’m still in the midst of unpacking, but I did begin to make an email list of the books I have here in Miami.

Last night I joined the people in the “Bingo club.” They asked me to call out the numbers and of course, since so many of the players are Hispanic, I called out the numbers bilingually. Because my Mexican relatives used to give me phone numbers in rapid-fire Spanish, it’s my custom to announce any number in the 60s or 70s “numero por numero.” That is, I always say “Seis cinco” instead of “sesenti (sp?) cinco,” because it’s so hard to distinguish between “sesenti” and “setenti” (again, sp?).

After that, we went up top one of the neighbor’s apartment and had a nice party. It was so good to see my upstairs neighbor after almost 7 months. She’s fighting a battle against brain cancer and seems to winning.

    Good Afternoon, Friends,

I’ve been down with some sort of a cold. Must have caught it on the airplane, or from MMM’s bronchitis. Just feel crummy!

Sounds like everyone is busy busy busy! Arye, hope your neighbor keeps her good attitude and keeps on winning!!! Good for her!

It is absolutely gorgeous here….55 degrees, partly cloudy, and 99% of the old snow has melted. Maybe I’ll be strong enough to start walking the hills tomorrow.

    Good morning Vagabonds.

We lit the first Advent candle (Prophecy candle) today, too and the message was about messianic prophecy, from Isaiah to Micah to Matthew and a lot in-between.

It’s been windy and cool here the past couple of days. Not much sunshine. I love the sound of my wind chimes in the back yard. They are so melodious.
