Good morning, Vagabonds. Well, no one has livred in my Miami apartment dor over 2 months and I haven’t been here since April and I had a lot of work to do. Yesterday I stayed up to 7:30 AM going through my mail, magazines and newspapers, but my roommate’s room was daunting with heavy boxes all over the room.
Fortunately, a friend came to visit me and stay for a day or two and put the boxes back in the walk-in closet and we through out a lot of garbage. Over the years I thiought my roommate was the neatnick. However, we found a huge box of opened beercans as well as at least a dozen empty packages of cigarettes. My roommate knew that smoking is furboten in my home and I disn’t smell any nicotine,, but I’m si surprised that he didn’t throw away or re-cylce any of this stuff. I even found a bible that was moldy – I have no idea how it got that way. I caan only surmise that in the last few months he was in a depression.
I have unpacked but am about to hang up the clothes I brought from NY. If my friend hadn’t visited me I would have been completely overwhelmed.
Morning, Village.Got our Christmas decorations put up yesterday, but we haven’t decorated the tree yet. And this afternoon we’ll decorate the church for Advent.
Arye, in my experience, there are always surprises when one moves, whether it’s a roommate that moved out or when we pack up our own stuff (which I have done twice in the last 5 years). I’m glad your friend came over to help.
Good news from my oral surgeon. My bone grafts have healed well enough to do my third implant. I have scheduled it for just after the first of the year and then I’ll get my permanent teeth in late March, early April. I CAN’T WAIT!!!
We had such a nice trip with our family! We are settling in and I have a mountain of laundry to do. MMM caught his annual bout of bronchitis down in San Diego. Something about the moist ocean air does it to him every winter. Since we moved up to Montana, he hasn’t had it! But, foggy ole San Diego did him in!
Sorry to hear about your apartment, Arye, but you were very lucky to have a friend help out!
Jan, such good news! I’ll bet you’re really anxious for your teeth! Have you been able to wear temps in the meantime?
We won’t be putting up our decorations for a few days yet, but am really looking forward to it.
70’s today, were having a cookout at 5:30- 7:30 over @ the clubhouse- every month the staff has something going on for the community- always free. they always cater to the kids as well as us older kids :-)
