He’s not dumb, he’s modern and young. Many young people hear a word they don’t know and the DON’T ask… I’d say he’s pretty bright to seek knowledge.
And yes, Nelson has a home and spends most of his time there. But the strip is about Earl and Opal, so we only see him (and his parents) at their house.
“Dumbest kid”….ooooh, them’s fightin’ words to grandparents. My grandkids love to spend time at Nana and Papa’s…and we love to have them here. It’s a laugh riot the things they say…never dumb…just pure entertainment!
Whether he is smart or dumb may be open to discussion, not cool though the way he threw grandpa under the bus like that. That question would be better asked of grandpa, not about him. Be cool man.
