The BS/coverup is the fact that the House Republicans were the ones who actually voted down an increase of security for the Libyan Embassy, and they are now blaming Obama for their own vote.

It was a thank you to Lynne for providing the link. It’s good when people back up their comments with reasoned facts. I understand your confusion as you deal with facts, reason, or even courtesy so rarely. You, and conservatives and liberals who use your tone, are hurting America, and you should stand down a little. Keep commenting, but think before you hit the submit key. And then Howgozit, you’ll find it going a lot better.Disrespectfully,C.

@HowgozitI can explain how “only the House passes this type of bill.”

It is the responsibility of the House of Representatives to initiate spending bills. When they pass, the Senate receives them for discussion and voting. If they don’t pass, the Senate is not involved, nor is the President.

Since House Republicans would not pass this bill, they bear at least a large part of the responsibility.

I hope this gives you a clearer understanding of the workings (I use the term very loosely) of Congress.

But of course, when all is said and done, everything is Obama’s fault.

Simple facts: the House Republicans cut the budgets. We’ve been operating under continuing resolutions because of THEM, so how is it Obama “increased spending”? Oh, right, he just put a bunch of it on the books.

As to the Libya situation, and other “events” around the world that are covert, or, for security reasons, NONE OF THE PUBLIC"S “NEED TO KNOW”, folks such as ISSA and his “committee” are the ones endangering our people around the world, and that, to me, and others, represents treason.

Now Mitt is on the stump blowing the whistle again, for political advantage. Romney needs to get on his bus, and go back home, and drop out of “the race”.

for 3 years the Democrat senate has prevented the passage of a budget…..it takes a spending bill approved by both the House and the Senate and signed by the President to fund the federal agencies. Department budgets are controlled by the executive branch which is Democrat since Jan. 2009.-If funds were “short” for security for US diplomats overseas, then for high-risk places like Libya and Cairo and other “new” coup governments in North Africa, at least the State Department could have used the Military which has its own budget! -the Obama administration clearly does not put a high priority on the lives of our overseas civilians, and maybe not even on our military who seem in some areas to be shorthanded.-Where does the Buck Stop in the Obama regime?

This is quite explicitly not true. The request WAS for Libya.

Here in reality, the Republicans have also been responsible for “my way or the highway” rejection of a large amount of legislation, often by filibuster, and have scuppered other legislation by deliberately loading it with provisions that Democrats CANNOT agree to.

    They blocked the cybersecurity bill

They’ve blocked jobs bill after jobs bill

They’ve blocked security act after security bill (filibustered, even where there was bipartisan support…

    etc., etc., ad nauseam.

    God I’m old….

Your comment reminded me of an old tv show…must be the pain killers…and a chinese girl is talking about the honorable robber. A man says, don’t you mean dishonorable robber? The girl replies…Must be nice to everyone.I like my trolls in video games. The venting is much more satisfying. And Thomas Jefferson in his second inaugural said we had to give voice even to those who would destroy our Constitution if for no other reason but to know what they are saying.Have appreciated many of your comments, neighbor. RespectsC.

You know, it’s a funny thing. I can see this is quoted in a lot of places, but listening to the testimony, it is quite clear that she said more than that, but all the video clips and quotations are cut abruptly at " No, sir," – so what else did she say?

I’m trying to get a video or transcript of the full testimony, because I think that the full thing, not the cherrypicked bits, is likely to be more interesting.

Ah, the relevant clip is at 24 minutes and 40 seconds or so into part 2. And Rohrabacher himself cuts off Charlene Lamb’s answer on several occasions, then goes off into speechifying. So, we have actually little idea of what she had to say about budget because she got cut off in the beginning of her sentence.
