Amazing that we can get so worked up over a stupid game – but when they screw up the entire economy, when people lose their livelihoods and homes – no big deal.
Howgozit forgets (or doesn’t admit) that Obama never said he’d TAKE from the rich. What he said was that government needed to do a better job of redistributing the wealth. And he never said taxes. He said to help give people opportunity. That has been conflated to mean he wanted to ONLY tax higher incomes. He also talked about making sure we had the right programs in place. Those who stand up for no taxes, only lower spending, ignore every credible paper that show Romney’s numbers don’t add up no matter which way you work them!
Howgozit, the tax comments came later, when Obama realized (FINALLY) that no matter what he did the Republicans were bound to Karl Rove’s pledge rather than their oath to OUR Constitution! Again, no matter how one runs the numbers, the Republicans cannot have it both ways. They want to cut everything but defense, even though we already spend more than the next 6/7/8 countries combined (depending on the source). They want to RAISE defense spending while cutting taxes, even while the generals tell them they don’t need what they want to fund! An Abrams tank doesn’t do very well when fighting an insurgency, a lesson we keep forgetting. Even the cuts in the social programs they propound won’t get them to the “balanced” budget they proclaim they want. The last time Ryan was questioned on his budget numbers, he said they didn’t run them through the CBO! And his last budget wouldn’t “balance” the budget until 2040!

The ref’s here are right. The banks scored a touchdown because they fumbled after crossing the goal line.
(They got their money, the deregualors fumbled)
