Wait, wait — Jenkins has a girlfriend?!? What woman would be THAT desperate?

If his girlfriend finds out, she’ll be so deflated.

Overall, though, this strip would be funnier to me if I had not had encounters with Jenkins-types.

You wouldn’t think that it would be so hard to understand, that when she says “please leave me alone” that means she is NOT going to date you. But the number of guys to whom this is apparently either a mortal insult deserving of retribution/continued harassment, or else simply completely inconceivable (“what, you mean women DON’T exist only and solely to entertain me as a man??!! WHAT?! NO WAY”) …well, it seems like there’s a dishearteningly large segment of the population who seem to think that way, anyway.

I partly blame the whole rom-com meme of “clueless, objectionable idiot of a guy gets the girl to fall in love with him because he keeps chipping away at her.” I ever come across someone who wrote one of these scripts, I’m gonna tear his arms off and beat him to death with the soggy ends.

Wait a minute. That relationship rodeo clown thing. Is there any money in that?

Scott honestly thought that Jenkins might swing his way?

Athena is barking up the wrong tree, she should have Jenkins’ girlfriend talk to him on her behalf. He would be a lot less argumentative.
