What seems to be ignored consistently is that said militia is composed of individuals and those individuals need to know how to shoot. You can’t expect to train someone to handle weapons well in a couple months. That becomes even more noticeable in high tension situations such as combat. Hence, private firearm ownership is tantamount to a well_armed militia. It’s the private ownership of firearms and a lifetime of hunting/target practice that bring one a thorough working knowledge of firearms and shooting thus enabling one to be part of militia that’s worth anything. Even though the 2nd amendment doesn’t specifically state that it implies it. The amendment gives the reason for the rule, and then the rule.
As for concealed carry, law abiding citizens that jump through all the hoops required to carry are not the concern. It’s the criminals that ignore the laws that are damaging our society.
