Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

The best way is to avoid the store altogether.

It’s fun to look at, but I hardly ever buy any of it.

I can soooooooo identify with Cathy today (in panel #4). I just love, love, LOVE Christmas ornaments! No matter how much I’ve got to do when I’m out shopping, if I see an ornament display of ANY kind, I just can’t help myself . . . I simply HAVE to stop and look!!! I usually don’t buy anything because they can be pretty pricey but still . . . it’s just too irresistible for me to ignore!!!!! ;-)
kittycatpawsare: Happy belated birthday to you too! When was your birthday?
Susan: LOL hilarious comment!!!!! You really made my day with that one!!!!!
Terri Brittingham: Are you the same Terri Brittingham in PA that I just saw quoted on theanimalrescuesite.com about an abandoned kitten that was rescued in May named Chance/Trooper? I go there everyday to click on the free food and care button to help abandoned/neglected animals (sure hope it really works!) and just happened to notice it today. If so, that’s totally awesome!!!!!
lightenup, rgcviper, serenasakitty, lindz.coop, and kittycatpawsare: Thanks so much for the belated birthday wishes! Despite being yet another year older (better than the alternative, I suppose!), it was a pretty nice day. I went shopping, hubby made me dinner and dessert and I got lots of nice birthday cards and telephone calls from family and friends. The only thing that would have made it absolutely perfect??? Seeing my good friends, Aaron and Dr. Billy, back here with us where they belong and where we know everything is okay with them and that they’re safe and sound! Soon, I hope!!!!!

@rgcviper – I don’t know anyone’s email address (except for Susan Sunshine and she doesn’t post at Cathy), but we’ve been talking about exchanging them. I’m also going to look into doing a website, but this week and weekend are crazy busy for me, so it’ll have to wait until next week.

Ow—I’m pretty sure the eyes hit the brain on tonight’s [eye-roll]. Think I’ll go lie down for a bit. Ha.
@lightenup
Thanks for the info. I was just wondering if we had any other ways to contact Aaron and Billy, besides here on the site. I’m really wondering why we haven’t seen either in so long.

I’ve been racking my brains over the disappearance too, like most of the people who have been here for a while.
The last thing Billy said, I think, was that he would be back later with another dessert. But the last thing Aaron said was a little earlier – and I’m almost sure he said something about Dr B putting him back into the lab, and hoping he wouldn’t be turned into something nasty by the experiments.
I took that, as would most people, I think, to be a reference to the Hallowe’en avatatars they had adopted at the time – but now I’m wondering if he was going for more treatment for that long-standing condition he has, whose name I can’t remember offhand.
I could be barking up entirely the wrong tree of course, but that might explain Aaron’s absence, if the treatment is taking longer than expected. And if it was true, Billy would want to be with him, not chatting here.
Pure speculation on my part, so ignore it if you want. I’m just as puzzled and worried as anybody else about their absence.
