Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

Give Cathy another 5 seconds and she could reach 100. I bet she gets her first scratch before she’s a block from the dealership.
Morning Susan about an hour ago. LMB and I were cruising the countryside since about 7:00 with Dad. Mom gives me half a blueberry muffin (freshly made) when I come home in one piece. Talk about incentive. :-D
Morning lightenup what type of incentive does it take to get YOU though the day in one piece? Hello UK friends when you arrive. Hi readers! Hope all is well.
Hi Mom!

Deep breath, Cathy, deep breath. Take it easy…
For me, the worst part of a new car is getting that first ding. That hurts more than the rest. Someone deliberately put a long scratch in the very first car that I bought with my own money. That one first made me furious and then so sad that people could be so mean.
Good morning, Susan! I’m guessing that Aaron and LMB are riding into town, and Aaron will be posting soon enough. Good morning, boys!
@ lindz.coop – Thanks for telling us about meeting Cathy’s mom! That was really interesting and it’s really cool that you got a drawing from her! Very nice!
Hello to GsMom, KFG, Billy, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, gmforde, soonergal, lippyfish, Mai Tai, Willi Nilli, mollie, AnonaMona, Bronzepony, simpsonfan2, legaleagle and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!

Oops I stepped on lightenup this time. My spidey senses seem to work only on Billy these days.

Morning to all, I got my first ding on new car a month ago in Florida…someone let their door hit my door and never left a note or anything!!

Giving as good as you get, eh, Aaron? Never mind – just let lightenup have the other half of your muffin. That should do the trick.
Lovely sunny day here today – which is something of a rarity this “summer”!

I’m not a driver, but my OH has only ever had second-hand cars until the current one. The good bit about a pre-used vehicle – apart from the cost being about half, of course – is that it already has that lived-in look, courtesy of previous owners.
The current car was new and shiny – and I remember how crushed he was the first time he got back to the car park and discovered that some kind passer-by had given it a dunt, without leaving his details.

Talk about turning white as a sheet, or is that just the effect of the windshield?

LOL @ Cathy’s face in panel 3………that salesman in kind of mean…why would he encourage her anxiety?……..Who knows….Hello to Lightenup, Jr., Aaron, Dr. Billy, LMB, Gretch’s Ma, Susan, Viperdude, Bronzepony, Mollie, serenaskitty, hendelca, lindzcoop, Mona and all the other wonderful, crazy Cathy nuts here today :)

From zero to 60 anxieties in only 10 seconds??? I’m surprised that it even took that long!!!!! ;-)
Meanwhile . . . Is anyone else just as underwhelmed (to say the very least!) at Cathy’s new car as much as I am?!? Maybe we’ll get to see more of it tomorrow when it’s actually out on the road being driven by our favorite little nut-job and we’ll all be “wowed” by it then? Nah!!! Probably not!!!!!
HI, AARON & DR. BILLY!!!!!
Aaron: If you make those yummy-looking Peach Crumb Bars tonight for dessert, don’t forget to let us know how they came out! B/t/w . . . yet another one bookmarked!!!!! :-)
Good afternoon, lightenup, lightenupjr., K.F.G., Susan, lindz.coop, rgcviper, gmforde, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, hendelca, Gator007, legaleagle48, mollie05, AnonaMona, soonergal, Willi Nilli, Bronzepony, simpsonfan2, Molly mcgee, GreggW, Hobbes (if you should happen to drop by) and all the REST of the “Cathy” fanatics joining us here today. It’s great to “see” you all! And if you’re new here . . . WELCOME TO CATHY’S NUTHOUSE!!!!! GLAD YOU’RE JOINING IN ON ALL THE FUN!!!!! ;-)

The really bad thing is that I can actually relate to this one. I had someone with no insurance run into me within a month of buying a new car a few years back. When I bought a new car recently, the first thing I thought was, “I wonder how long it will be before this one gets dinged!” Ack, I’m getting more like Cathy each day!!!

My first ding on my first new car at the age of 17: SHREEEEEEEEIIIIIKKKK
My first ding on my 2nd new car at the age of 26:
Awwwww come onnnnnnnnn
My first ding on my 3rd new car last year:
Aaron! Did you paint that bulls eye on my car??
How about you rgcviper? Ever feel like the bulls eye? :-D
HI MOM!

Billy’s daily log entry – night of June 3:
Gee, I hope I remembered to take the bullseye off Aaron’s butt
And we all know that, yes, he did forget. Sigh.
And if I can’t laugh at myself, I’d be crying. Laughing is better. Trust me. :-D

Ouch, Aaron!! I’ve been flat out all day from that step on this morning. just kidding, sweets… ;-) I’ll let you make it up to me with a bite of tonight’s dessert.
What incentive gets me through the day? Hmm, chocolate and a good cup of tea. Plus some alone time on the computer reading the comics. That and some sweet hugs and loving from my family. What can I say? I’m easy… LOL!
