    Love the Mariah Carey reference here. Jazmine needs to learn about revolutionary icons. You ARE Black alert!!

    Now I understand why Huey always treats here the way he does…. First impressions you can never escape them

    I can see Huey’s point, but until we stop defining each other by skin color – or hair style – the problems will remain. Of course, that wouldn’t make for much of a strip.

    I have German ancestors, and a German name. Yet my skin is hispanic brown. I wonder if I can join a white supremacist movement?

    @Potrzebie

    I heard that in one Texas Klan leader back in the 1970’s was “half Indian” railing against the Vietnam boat lift coming to Galveston.

    The “One Drop Rule” was used against all American Blacks, and others. So now they can use it as a positive thing.

    I don’t think so, friend. They are low-class people who have to subjugate people who are different than them. It is just fear of the unknown.

    sigh I know how Jazmine feels. I too have a white mother and black father and when I was growing up, I identified with the white side of my family (the side that lives in the States.) Black people want you to be black, white people want you to be white, Latinos think you know perfect Spanish because you “look” like you do.

    Then I grew up and decided labels were stupid, and if you don’t like for who I am, then **** you. :)
