   When it comes to art, I use what I call the “Farmer’s Test.”
   .
   If a farmer found it in his field would he hang it up as art, throw it on the scrap heap, or, if he needed a new board, whitewash it and use it on the floor of the chicken-coop.
   .
   Not much “art” gets by him! (Particularly “art” funded by tax dollars.)

   Yet much grant money is from non-profits established by corporations as tax write-offs which is still using govt (mine and yours) monies (with apologies to those honorable groups doing legit endowment).

    If the voters decide to fund grants for the arts, then it is a democratic process. Some people think funding wars, and oil company or big business subsidies are immoral. It’s our elected representatives who decide.

    Never heard of the NEA ZOID and Win, where some 1 % er decides to fund (if I remem right ) some azz who shlt on the flag or the one bltch who put a flag down so every one could walk on it .

    What I object to is a semi-Gov agency giving my tax money to someone and I have NO say where that $ goes !

    I do not object to funding for PBS. What I object to is when I fund you( Jim Henson and Barney comes to mind ) and you make many millions and you never pay one cent back to the tax payer who footed the start up cash !

    
    I believe in the first amendment as long you don’t use MY money without my input to do it !( rant font is now off)
