In 20 years it will be underwater and Philadelphia will be beachfront property.

The east coast barrier islands won’t be underwater, but since they are SAND BARS that move with every major storm (people still built on them, knowing that!!) you can bet on many costly bailouts. Beats me why anyone would want to live on a sandbar, much less build there, but since the 1960s it’s been in vogue, from Florida to the Northeast.

And that would be a bad thing how?

Parts of Philly may be underwater, too. You would have to go to the Roxborough section (a high point in the northwest part of the city) as Manayunk will also be underwater from the Schuylkill River.

Note to readers: My screen name honors Phillies legend Richie Ashburn. I lived in the northern suburbs of Philly for the first 46 years of my life. Where I lived was above the fall line, so it would not be underwater any time soon!

I am Jersey and I am so much better than that. As are every single other person I actually know in the state.

Can’t we make Texas sink? They want to secede anyway, so just let them slip beneath the waves.

How did Ft. Monmouth fare in the storm?
(Was there April – Oct 1962)

I used to believe that would happen to California and Arizona.
