    Two days with the Big Nate shirt. Was that in the original story, or has this been added since. Why, is Lincoln Pierce terminally ill or something?

    Thought that Chuck might know more about Morris than the rest of us.

    @Bob

    Please elaborate! As far as I can tell, that’s not Mr. Peirce’s obituary date.

    That’s just the original date of this strip.

    Sometimes the cartoonist updates strips, like The Boondocks are often changed even though the creator has moved on, and the cultural references are brought up to date.

    Since Pandolph moved to the New Yorker, he may have time. This strip has been updated before, and I was told it was Pandolph’s favorite, and Chuck was modelled on Corey’s imagination of what his grandfather may have been like.

    Yeah, Chuck Pandolph really existed and had a best frenemy “Dew” Morgan, who had a bunch of kids. Chuck died instead of Marie in real life, but I dunno if Corey’s grandmother is still alive.
