Barkeater Lake is a season comic strip that follows the life of NYC resident Delores Tanzini, a recent divorcee who finds herself contemplating a move to the rural Adirondack mountain town of Barkeater Lake. Each 22 week season will focus on the next stumble of her decent into small town madness.

One thing I learned after we first moved to this rural area is not to say anything unkind or sometimes even truthful about anyone, because they may be related to whomever you’re speaking with, or to the person who’s eavesdropping.

Having lived in some small and very small towns, I can attest that news often travels at speeds that technology simply cannot match.

Might be? That should change to probably are. My parents retire to a location whose road bares her family name. 90% of those living on that road are distant kin of mine. The rest will probably be kin in 2 or 3 generations.
