Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

Had to check on this and it gets complex:
According to UPI News, on September 28, and on CNN, the Kennedy Center Honors has snubbed Hispanics and Latinos. Except for Plácido Domingo and Chita Rivera, no other person of Hispanic heritage has been honored, which has upset the Hispanic communities.
however:The selection process is kept secret, though "certain criteria seem apparent: a mix of artistic disciplines, the inclusion of men and women, minority recognition.

Is this an accusation that “The Kennedy Center Honors” is racist? Careful, that sword cuts both ways.

@1after909
Is it possible to complain that a specific subset of society – which has provided a bounty of artistic contributions to our country – is being ignored without it being an accusation of racism?

The Kennedy Center Honors is just that: Racist!

BTW…it is strange that most nonhispanic americans either don’t realize they are enjoying a Hispanic artist (i.e. Ritchie “Valens”) or only hear about them once they have had an untimely death.

Careful Hector and Carlos. That’s LIBERAL DEMOCRATS your making fun of. They don’t like that one bit you know — you’re only suppose to make fun of CONSERVATIVES.

Seems everything is racist or offensive. Ooops, sorry!

Excellent observation! Let’s see how fast they can back-pedal.

i have a comment on the wealth of Latin performers however I am unable to word it in a way that both sides wouldn’t take offense to therefore I will forgo my comment.
