Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 18 “The Everlasting Man-thing”(32) 4/13/2013 Saturday

    Panel One

For the Baldander this is just another day of being hunted. From many times before other hunters (not all of them human) over time try to and sometimes are successful in their attempts to capture it. It always escapes as best it can using its billion year old cunning and shape-shifting powers to be free of bother for a time before it happens again. (But soon it will need more than that. This is like no other day the Baldander has had before.)

    Panel Two

“He’s really moving fast, uh, gone now.” Alley says using his binoculars. (Also rented.)

    Panel Three

“Can you still feel him, Corinne?” Jinx asked, she is the only one who could track it now.

“Just barely, it seems to be evolving a way to lose my tracking tendril trace.” She replies her eyes closed, arms still up and out as she tries to follow the fantastic creature with her psychic powers.

    Panel Four

Unknown to Alley, he has dropped his book he bought to read on his flight to the islands. “The Human/Dinosaur Connexion” by Richard Dawkins published back in 2014. He had dropped it in all the running. Now as they leave the area the Baldander comes back sniffing the area and notices it, picks it up and looks to find something to carry it in. (Corinne’s mental connexion went both ways. The
Baldander read her mind and altered its brain to absorb the information including language. Both spoken and written!)

    The pit sounds ominous.

It’s the jail of Moo. It’s been used in countless story arcs in the past.

Step 1. Wizer in the pit. (others have called it).
Step 2. A trial – Wizer is found guilty as sin.
Step 3. Moovians realize they need Wizer’s unique abilities, and besides, he’s really just misunderstood.
Step 4. Guz figures a big party will make Wizer feel more respected.
Step 5. Guz forgets to invite Wizer.
    -
    Hilarity does not ensue.

That was the trial – Guz is the king. But it wouldn’t surprise me at all if a situation happens where Wizer saves the day. That’s the quality of writing we’ve come to expect.

I wonder how long it will be before the next arc begins? I’m thinking just throwing him in the pit will occupy a good part of next week.

That’s all well and good because what’s time worth in Moo?

You’re probably right about the trial, Unca Scrooge. Now it’ll go to the appellate court – Judge Oompa presiding.

I called “exil”, but the pit works too.

Sunday – Repeats this week’s strips (and that’s okay)
Monday – Repeats today’s strip (and that’s okay for those of us who have a little trouble with short term memory)
Tuesday – The cop grabs Wizer by the arm.
Wednesday – The cop drags Wizer to the pit.
Thursday – The cop starts to shove Wizer into the pit.
Friday – Umpa comes up and says, “Guz, what are you doing?”
Saturday – Guz says, “Now, Umpa, Sweet, you don’t understand …”
The following week has Guz repeating the story to Umpa.
I predict that Wizer will not be thrown into the pit. Not this week, not next week, not ever.

Would you please tell me which dictionary lists “connexion” as an alternate spelling for “connection”? None of my dictionaries lists it, and I see you keep using it. If no such proof exists, then PLEASE USE THE CORRECT SPELLING?
