should I be bored? It must be just me. I really feel sad.
i guess ill skip monday, then…
Yep Ooola, asking nicely and saying Please should get you through security in a snap. lol
Someone else pointed out the real problem with this situation yesterday. Under normal circumstances, Security would have taken the entire party in for questioning, not just one person. Ooola and Ava would not have been left outside, they would have been taken into custody as well as Oop.
The last panel will be repeated Monday except that Ava’s note will read: Help! I’m being held captive in the Alley Oop cartoon strip!! Call the Police, now!!
I really like the warning sign in the last panel. That brought a chill up my spine and a yawn to my lips.
Good grief people! If you dislike a strip that much why, oh why do you come back day after day to leave such nasty comments. That would be like watching a television show day after day that you really found disgusting and then complaining about it. It’s simple really. Just don’t read this strip. Take it out of your queue. Skip over it and get over it.
Redhead55: You are right on the money IMHO. There’s cadre of ‘readers’ who seem to think that Alley shouldn’t change with time or artists… I guess they haven’t, and find it disturbing that the world around them changes constantly… they seem to want “tradition”.. and THAT is a social anchor, as illustrated by the Middle East.
I go through a secured building at least once a day and sometimes more depending on what I’m doing. I’ve gone t through all three different levels each of which is configured a bit differently. I’ve also gone through the Federal Building in Seattle on a few occasions. Reading this, I just wonder whether Carole has ever had any real life experiences or whether she makes this stuff up and has no understanding of how the real world and people react. First, that line is so small that Oop’s reaction to go around it makes no sense at all. With nobody carrying anything, that line would take all of two minutes to process. Second, somebody without shoes would not be admitted. Period. Third, these “security checkpoints” (never seen a sign like that but people in Seattle are generally bright enough to know what the setup is) never have a way to go around it, as Oop suggest. 4) There would never be an “approved visitors list”. The only ones that would be exempted would be uniformed personnel with appropriate ID. Not judges, not elected officials, or even people that are well-known by the screeners (me, for example). Just saying that this could be written better as it appears this sequence was designed to just eat up time.
One last comment. Alley’s statement seems so contrived. What an odd phrase for him to use – not realistic at all. And why didn’t Ava warn Oop that there would be security to go through and to be careful what he says. Really, really poor writing with unrealistic dialog and “action”.
Written by the chief know nothing. LOL
BTW, it’s “scroll”, not “scrool”.
Here’s a tip, Sneaky Back Door Man. Instead of “scrooling” (sic), just use the End button on the keyboard and it will bypass all the messages and put you at the bottom of them all, bypassing them. You won’t see any other messages. Helpful free tip.
The irony is that you are the most negative and least respectful of anybody that posts on this site. The “things that you want to say” are never, ever nice and you’ve yet to say what you like about the strip.
