Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 16 “Earth 2 Crisis”(2) 12/2/2012
Panel One
After the 17th Century Dutch mansion, the most haunted in the country if not the world was destroyed and cleansed of its ectoplasmic inhabitance, Alley Oop and Dr. Lavainge Avril are whisked back to Bangor Airport and are taken on a military flight to Green Light base and the portal project to Earth 2. NCIS agent Nobu McCarthy doesn’t know anymore than what she was told. So they ate and slept as they flew across the country to where an anxious General Mann is waiting for them. He’s on his tenth cigar now. He had stopped until this.
Panel Two
Dr. Dark has many spy eyes, one had been following Nobu McArthy so it just switched to following both of them on the plane. There are more at the base, even on Earth 2. His tentacles spread far and wide even to somewhere under Egypt where that strange being went via some kind of dimensional access. He’s got the computing power and eyes to scan the data. Something the Americans don’t quite have yet. Just a huge storage facility in Utah but most of it isn’t looked at for years if every. What a waste. He may help them out if he sees a need for it. But it could blow back big time should the fickle almost empire change their minds. His vampire allies would not like to be on the pointed end of the mightiest military on the planet. (He could help those who want to make the USA into a full empire and well on the way to reaching it without him, if they will join with him and Belo-Rada that is.)
Panel Three
We go back a week to operation Green Light as the initial materials have been brought through to set up the beginnings of the U.S. military/TexComm beachhead. Their permanent foot hold on an alien planet even if it is a parallel world. But one with a vastly different history from our own.
Panel Four
For supply purposes and the want of the military the portal is now many times larger. So it also draws more power to operate and it means it is open for shorter periods because of it. Doctor Wonmug with Ava as his executive assistant watch as large trucks and other equipment are
passed through the glowing ring of energy as they pass through millions of miles to Earth 2. One thing that is immediately noticed is the oxygen content is a bit higher by 3%. Takes some adjusting. Also there is a greater fire danger because of it.
Panel Five
Wonmug also has two in liazon from the military (both Marine and Air Force) and from TexComm to bother him. Ava helps but she is out numbered. The green of the Marines and the blue of the Air Force with the dark blue an beige of TexComm are all over the base keeping things going and moving to and from Earth 2. For the moment it is top secret but soon the president will reveal it to the world as per the deal with TexComm one of the largest in the communication/energy/military/IndAg industries in the world. It practically owns Texas, it does own the newly reunified Congo and it shows on their new flag!

Yep Ooola, asking nicely and saying Please should get you through security in a snap. lol

Someone else pointed out the real problem with this situation yesterday. Under normal circumstances, Security would have taken the entire party in for questioning, not just one person. Ooola and Ava would not have been left outside, they would have been taken into custody as well as Oop.

@davidf42
Have you noticed any of the Benders storytelling to make any sense at all?

@David53
Sadly, this is all we get from the Benders. Boring and slow, boring and slow, boring and slow. Then slightly interesting. Then back to boring and slow.

@davidf42
Your point is correct but that would add complication and the Benders won’t quite go that far. But then this is Alley Oop and for them this is complicated enough.

The last panel will be repeated Monday except that Ava’s note will read: Help! I’m being held captive in the Alley Oop cartoon strip!! Call the Police, now!!

And thus the TSA was ultimately responsible for the destruction of the previous Timestream, children, on or about December 22, 2012.
Let this be a lesson to you all, my students … trading Freedom for Security is the deel we offered to chickens, and you can ask KFC how that turned out.

I really like the warning sign in the last panel. That brought a chill up my spine and a yawn to my lips.

Good grief people! If you dislike a strip that much why, oh why do you come back day after day to leave such nasty comments. That would be like watching a television show day after day that you really found disgusting and then complaining about it. It’s simple really. Just don’t read this strip. Take it out of your queue. Skip over it and get over it.

But we’re really expecting change.

Good Morning Benders and all Ava’s note should have given a little more information as Doc Wonmug cannot use
the note as proof he needs to be released on his own recognizance to deal to a threat in the space-time continuum.
When the laughter stops the questioning will continue.
The plot continues to move forward to Dec 21 the winter
solstice.and the last day on the Mayan Calendar.
To @Redhead55 just sit back and enjoy the comic If the critics don’t like the comic, thats just curdles in their coffee.
Have a great winter day!

Redhead55: You are right on the money IMHO. There’s cadre of ‘readers’ who seem to think that Alley shouldn’t change with time or artists… I guess they haven’t, and find it disturbing that the world around them changes constantly… they seem to want “tradition”.. and THAT is a social anchor, as illustrated by the Middle East.
