Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 14 “Dark Trail of Doom”(27) 7/8/12
Somewhere in Romania, Dr. Dark’s minions have brought him the last part of his puzzle to create a device that will assure the cryptic vampire nation will become exoterically national. All he has to do is to make sure the part is sound.
Panel One
Back in Jasperton, Nebraska the “Sun Shine” JTTF team find the special Erikon tube is missing. Just like they wanted. What they took was not a fake but a failed prototype. (Looks identical till you run a power test then it shows erratic readings.) Alley Oop had the brainstorm and the employees at Bendix Semi-Conductors did as they wanted. Put the good tube into the failed room. Set up the failed tube in the testing frame. And since it was Sunday no one would be there. Though they found one guard so dedicated to his work stayed anyway. It was sad finding him choking his last from a crushed hyoid bone and larynx. Last rites were given by one of the Special Forces guys, he’s a confirmed ordained minister. (Who knew?)
Panel Two
After Dr.Dark made the necessary connexions he set it up for a simple power test. What he found made him furious but he said nothing. In fact his silence even made some of the younger vampires shiver. The older ones bared their longer extending fangs and their faces became less human for a moment. He calls over Iron Palm with two stiff gestures. One of the rare times that a man such as he feels dread. He bows his head in humble apology to await his chastisement. One of the spider-things was there too to supervise its installation. Dr. Dark didn’t even bother speaking but communicated to them all telepathically.
Panel Three
ф"I know you work for me because I gave you life from the grave, and my other promise to you that your love, Luan-Lee-erh will also be brought back as you have, much closer to life. I have shown you her well preserved corpse (surrounded by roses), she committed suicide after your own martyr’s death."ф
ф"However I am sure that if you fail me again her corpse will be crushed and ground up to dust then mixed with the blood fodder I use for my special African flesh eating flowers of Ixulu."ф (Ruins of an ancient prehistoric nation within the confines of modern Lygeria.) Iron Palm thanks him for his mercy then goes to see about finding the real one.
Panel Four
Put into special packaging for delicate cargo the functional Erikon tube was taken with the “Sunshine” JTTF team back to Ft. Mitchum in the most secure vault they have. Then it was surrounded not just by humans and dogs, but also robotic guns and sensor beams. This is their only hope at this moment. It will be good to see what Nobu has been working on in their absence.
It looks like it just went off a cliff. Dad says get a wife so he grabs 1st woman he sees. No idea where he is or who she is but dad says get a wife. Ooola has been grabbed many a time and she used to haul off and smack the guy more often than not. But in Carole’s infantile portrayal, all she can get off is a yell for help.
No closure on Earth II, the statues, Oscar, O.L., etc.. An Arab appears out of nowhere and scoops up Lola, now we have Yochi. Is this all going anywhere?
“She’ll do”!?!? Did she know you said, “She’ll do”? tsk, at least y’all have been together 45 years, and I’m glad you said it was your best decision ever.
NightGaunt: great Alley had for the idea of the bait and switch. Our team hasn’t seen any of the insect size robo-spys? Great story!
What are we gonna do when the government knocks everybody with the computer virus off line? Is GoComics safe?
So, only 2 new panels today. Tuesday, we’ll have the next Bender panel or 2. This harkens back to the days when we complained about the Benders being so lame. Oh, the volcanos are back, but only in 1 panel!
Alley Oop is the classic caveman comic strip revolving around the irrepressible Alley Oop, who travels from prehistoric Moo all the way to the 21st century in his friend Doc Wonmug's time machine.

Just was able to get back on to gocomics. There had been an error keeping me away.
I am waiting with bated breath to see how this new storyline goes.
