The teacher should have talked to Agnes after class, Agnes may have trouble understanding but doesn’t want to ask for help in front of the class.

There is a time and a place for all things. Agnes is — of course — wrong but the teacher has a class to teach. She should not rob the rest of the students of their education just to explain the obvious to the one not only marching to the beat of a different drum but headed in a different direction.
    -
Not that we don’t love Agnes, of course.
    -
Perhaps the principal would be interested in discussing it further if for no other reason than to renew the joy of imparting knowledge to the unlearned.
    -
There is a subplot involved here. Even though the conspiracy theorists are pretty much all nuts, there could be needles of truth hidden somewhere in their haystack of insanity — or at least one single needle.
