Tony Cochran’s Agnes is a whimsical look at childhood through the eyes of the title character and her best friend, Trout. What sets this strip apart is the focus on that limbo just before little girls discover boys and appropriate social skills.

Odd, I’m now using electric space heaters to help save on propane.

Actually the Internet is sometimes run on propane or natural gas. Most peering, co-location and hosting centers have natural gas or propane fired generators, in addition to battery back-up power supplies, for the event of a utility failure.
To assure a reliable source of natural gas, my company hires a lot of farty old codgers like me.

Steam would work — except that you would have to keep the boiler constantly under fire, and the jacking gear constantly running on the stand-by generators. It would still take you forty-five minutes to get a turbine from stand-by to on line.

Finally, an alternative internet! That ought to show those internet providers a thing or two and maybe they will finally lower their rates.

@MayKitten:a 300 MW steam turbine needs 7 1/2 hours from cold to synchronise the generator and close the circuit breaker. A 2-stroke diesel (much smaller though) 15 mins @11MW. A gas turbine 1/2 hour IIRC.

Too small. Guinea pigs are larger. And are in desperate need of the excerise. Run them in both straight line and parallel circuits on a continious loop. Once they get the generators going….. just toss in a fresh guinea pig and a bag of food every hour and ….. volia!
