Does “Irrelevance” mean wasting a vote on a third party?

Without a moderate consensus in governing any choice is irrelevant in a broken non-collaborative system where extremists rule alternatively.

Indiana’s (closed) primary is this Tuesday. I’m pondering whether or not to select the GOP ballot. The reasons for this are that Braun is s-o-o-o bad of a politician, and that there is no chance that a Democrat will win any state wide office. Hence the two parties in Indiana are GOP and Irrelevant. Therefore, the only viable way to vote AGAINST Braun is to cast a vote FOR one of the GOP alternatives. Braun will win of course. He has more money — which is the only and essential way a candidate can have a chance to win. He also has the required stupidity and incompetence which fit to a nicety the preferences of the GOP super-majority electorate here in the Hoosier state.

My daughter chose Irrelevance instead of Hillary thinking she was making some good sort of statement. I haven’t gotten over it. I don’t mention it to her but it still bothers me. At least she didn’t vote for Trump.

Any vote that’s not for President Joe Biden is a vote for Drumpf, no matter which other box you check. The fact is, we must vote blue for every office in order to save our country from the fascists. The civilized world is counting on us.

We’ve seen what the Democrats brought us over the past 4 years. And easily can compare it to what a GOP President did for us 4 years prior. Some would have you think this is a one issue campaign. They take you for a fool.

The trouble is, voting on the irrelevance ticket might be quite fulfilling, making a statement about the way things are and all that, but it would take away another vote that should go to President Biden. He is the only real choice.

There’s an old saying “If voting made any difference, they’d make it illegal”. Therefore, since the GOP is doing everything in it’s power to purge, suppress, and intimidate as many potential democratic voters as possible voting MUST make ALL the difference.

So, Clay, the choice between “Normal” and “Chaos” is “Irrelevant”? No wonder the U.S. is in a “moral tailspin”.

With the 2 party system, few people are going to get everything they want. They can still support a party and push the party to adopt their viewpoints; it’s frustrating but the only other viable choice is not voting. Voting for a 3rd party is a protest vote. This fall, if enough do it in key states, can result in another term for Perp2024.

People are happy about raging inflation, high grocery prices, 9 million illegal aliens, increasing crime, student riots etc. Keep up the good work.

Vote for intelligence and empathy instead of ignorance and narcissism. The President shouldn’t be a heartless bad comedian.

Common sense would make this a no brainer.. but America lacks common sense. Many will vote for trump.. just to see if he is going to be as radical as he says. And, unfortunately not realizing the consequences, there will be no mulligans.

It appears that many posters do not know the definition of democracy. Many freedoms is better than less freedoms.

This may the most RELEVANT election we will have. Electing Trump is a big step towards Authoritarianism – see Project 2025. Electing Biden will keep our messy, wonderful constitutional experiment intact and ongoing.

You couldn’t be more wrong Clay. Biden’s no prize but he’s light years ahead of a lying, treasonous rapist. There is nothing irrelevant about this election.

In this case, “irrelevant” stands for “it’s irrelevant to me whether Biden facilitates a genocide with our tax dollars or trump facilitates a genocide with our tax dollars, as long as a bunch of college kids can get a good police beating every day for opposing them.”

Read or listen to the Time magazine article, then tell me you are marking irrelevant.

If you feel this country is irrevelent, then move some place where you feel the relevency is better. Time for a flat tax rate across the board!

Initially, I was going 3rd party because I was disappointed with Biden, but it’s looking more and more like I’ll vote for him after all, now that he’s stepping up a bit. Trump was never gonna get my vote. He’s too immature, impulsive, and has all the professionalism of street gangster.

Team Democracy v. Team Authoritarianism. Free speech v. don’t say “gay.” Health decisions between physician and patient v. politicians and judges making health decisions for you. C’mon people: This election is the most important election in our history, but it is not difficult.
