The USA should have never occupied Afghanistan. It’s up to Afghanistan to decide what kind of country it really wants to be.

Much as Russia liked supplying the Taliban and putting bounties on American Soldiers, I don’t think they are keen to reenter Afghanistan anytime soon. Not sure the Taliban wants any country to move a military force into Afghanistan. China may be contemplating it, but will likely sit back and wait for things to simmer down a bit, before making a decision. They prefer not to send their military. Finding businessmen and enough money to make the local politicians ignore the damage the Chinese mining companies will cause to their environment.

The U.S. is still better positioned to help its European allies than to try to force changes to a Middle Eastern country using heavy military means to occupy a country with a long history of chaos.
