Thank God for the US Constitution. As Amended it stands as the greatest document on self government ever created by man. The constitution is based on the notion that our rights are natural and innate to us, coming from (As Jefferson put in) “Nature or Nature’s God”: Natural Rights.
The Constitution was designed with the sole purpose of protecting the natural rights of every individual. It creates a framework of government with limited and defined powers. It divides power and functions between different branches and creates mechanisms to ensure that no part of government can be too powerful so as to harm individual freedom. It ensures that powers not delegated to it by the People are reserved to the people and the states.
We have definitely gone far afield as a people in allowing those running our government and their powerful political class allies to have FAR too much power. Time to abolish most of the bureaucracy and cut the power of the administrative state so that the political cronies go to the PEOPLE and tthe MARKET for their support, rather than the government.
Long Live the American Revolution! The Revolution of self-governance!
