Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling A Desert Island Recession Man #1: I'm in charge of fishing. I own the ocean. Man #2: I'm in charge of making and fixing huts. I own the beach. Man #3: I'm in charge of getting coconuts for water. I own the trees. All was well until one day - Man #1: Darn! No luck fishing today. I can't trade fish to get my hut fixed. Man #2: Uh-oh! Now I lost business for my hut-fixing! I can't trade that extra fish for coconuts. Man #3: No one's trading for my coconuts! I'd better conserve energy and rest! Next Day - Man #1: Oh, no! Now I had a good day fishing, but no one is trading! I'll fish less tomorrow. Man #2: Well, if nobody wants their hut fixed, I'd better relax. Man #3: I'm going to preserve my coconut supply. They'll just rot if I cut them down and no one trades. Man #1: I'm cold. Man #2: I'm thirsty. Man #3: I'm hungry! This island can't support us anymore! Next - Man #2: This is no time to spend our resources helping those in need! It's time for austerity!
