Many schools think they are owed national championships. If it doesn`t happen, they fire the coach. Texas, Southern California, UCLA, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State Texas A & M and Oklahoma come to mind.
The best thing universities can do is dump their intercollegiate sports programs and get back to the business of educating people. Back in the 70s, my dad used to say college football and basketball were just the minor leagues for those sports and would be better separated from the sham of pretending to have anything to do with education.
The coach that comes to mind here is Jim Fisher – he got a $55 million contract and some other millions. But he left before his contract expires and then Texas A&M got him for about $77 million and, again, he is leaving before the end of that contract. He must be one of the richest coaches to never complete a contract. Is he really that good a coach to warrant all that money? Yes, I’m not a football person – but I’m certain all that money was not worth the school losing all those games.

College Station has really good banking machines. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

I understand there are quite a few football teams that have a college.

And they wonder why college is so expensive and students are in debt for life.
