There are three states with two-thirds of their population fully vaccinated: Vermont, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. These three states are also showing the lowest rate of new cases per capita.
Even so, this is not at “herd immunity” level. Cases are rising again, thanks to Delta and people not masking or getting immunized.
Even assuming that children are less likely to suffer extreme cases of COVID-19 (and variants can change that – Delta is worse in kids than other kinds), they can still transmit the virus.
I’m glad my kids are too old to have to deal with this; my younger one is returning to college in the fall (probably), but they have over 85% vaccinated there.
