Both my sons served in the military one in the Marines and one in the Army and they both saw action. Neither one gets proper care from the poorly govt. supported VA.
The weekend of hypocrisy.. Thanking all those that died (some in vain) by those that were afraid.. had other things to do.. developed bone spurs.. sought careers…
I’m permanent and total from ‘Nam, my son is retired disabled from Iraq and elsewhere, he spent 13 years in so is “disabled retired”, uses Tricare and VA. We both found VA understaffed, but trying to help. We BOTH had repeated cases of the PENTAGON screwing us, and others over me Army, he Navy. Congress, Administrations, and Pentagon are the real problem, financing, manpower, “policies”, not so much VA.
But the real thing is Memorial Day is about our friends, relatives, and others who died, Veterans Day is for we who survived, to varying degrees, and whose pain and suffering has lasted decades, maybe Memorial Day actually honors, the lucky ones.
There are far too many who have not returned or who returned damaged… from far too many military actions that were, even given the best possible spin, largely about enriching the cronies and friends of the party in power.
I am sad and mostly thankful for those who lost their lives or whose lives are burdened as a result of their service; but I am angry at those who sent them in harms way for no good reason.
And now trump is in Japan – on Memorial Day weekend – to play golf and eat burned Kobe beef- instead of thinking about those that died in service. At least he’s consistent in his hypocrisy.

And for all those in ‘Unknown Tombs’ whose identity will forever be lost. They gave it all – even their names.

Uncle Sam looks a little Trump worn, but hanging in there! God bless all those who have served and died for our democracy!

$800K each for missiles. Tanks built and sent directly to storage. Plans to develop new nukes. High-tech jets that never work properly.
Increase support for the VA. Support diplomacy. Require anyone that is promoting war to be on the front lines.

Well done, Tim – Memorial Day is for those who died protecting our freedom; “Freedom is not Free”

Those at rest in locations unknown are the ones the president hates the most.

Thank you for that!
