Koko, our Lab Alex, would pick up his dish and drop it at my feet.

I’m bearly good in communication. So I just steal all your food without asking.

And felines have their own way of communicating.

Dogs can’t beat cats at that. Cats have claws.

There is the “I want to go out NOW look”. The “I’m mad at you for not taking me with you look”. and the well practiced “I want a treat look”.

And Koko is using all three methods of communication at once.

wonder what percentage of folks don’t know what a Vulcan Mind Meld is?

Cats do it too. They’ll sit there and stare at you, daring you to look away and ignore them. You can’t do it. The cat—and the dog—always win. Gotta love ’em.
