With me, if I drink “regular” coffee, I have no problem falling asleep!! But, one cup of decaf and I’m up all night!! Therefore, I don’t drink decaf … and never will!!

I drink decaf, because I do like the taste of coffee, but really don’t need the caffeine anymore. It’s not really big deal.

If he can’t taste the difference, maybe he needs to get tested for Covid-19.

Caffeine is what a benevolent Nature put into coffee beans to make them worth processing into a palatable beverage.

I never use cream or sugar in coffee as you can’t improve perfection. That first sip tells you all you need to know. If you don’t get that first sip rush, it’s decaf. Hope that’s what he ordered. If you don’t drink it black, just put more cream and sugar. Makes no difference then anyway….

There’s no difference in taste between decaf and regular! Caffeine has no taste whatsoever. Unfortunately there’s not as many choices of good coffee that has been decafinated.

In other words, if it has no taste, it’s decaf.

Given the course of Brutus’s life, does he really want to live through it wide awake?

The “holy grail” of biochemical research in coffee is to make a variety that grows without caffeine but still has the wonderful flavor of coffee. It’s not even as easy as you might think. :)

I don’t need to ask. I look at my heart monitor. My pulse jumps to about 130 bpm within a minute of drinking regular. Minimal reaction to decaf.

I’ve been drinking decaf for decades (to help with the blood pressure) and on the rare occasion when I end up with regular I’ve never been able to tell the difference by taste alone. I do, however, notice that the shot of caffeine really jangles the old nerves now (and I’m sure my BP spikes a bit too).

My favorite morning brew has always been 2/3 dark roast coffee with 1/3 chicory blended in and medium ground, done in a French press, but, these days I settle for Aspen Ridge coffee house blend in my Keurig.
