I think Ted’s losing it.

“Their goal was to get Obama re-elected and it failed miserably.”

1) That is not their goal;2) If that WERE their goal, it has not failed (nor is it likely to).

I think Ted knows something we don’t.

The Democrats are mostly pretty capitalistic. I wish the people who call Obama a socialist could see that.

I don’t understand why people are having problems with this toon. It’s about the ultimate failing of insisting on only working within the system or making lifestyle changes. Power never cedes control without being resisted.

I think we may be in agreement, but using terms a little differently. I mean that there is very little independent left — the democrats have absorbed most of the left without taking over the ideas of the left. You can see on these posts that many posters think that “liberal” and “left” are synonyms, or that the democrats represent the “left”. Speaking as a leftie, I am often pretty critical of the democrats, whom I do not see as particularly left at all. This is the way I learned the term “to co-opt”: when the democrats tried (and largely succeeded) in taking over the civil rights movement, which was not originally based in either party. When I was active in the movement, I remember being warned over and over, “Don’t let yourself be co-opted (that is, taken over by) the democrats.” That’s what I mean. I hope I’ve clarified things, but probably I’ve just confused them more.

I have learned that even those who are intelligent, witty and perceptive can at times say and do the stupidest things. Today, Ted showed that he has nothing to say, so he jumps the shark with this ridiculous cartoon. His satire is usually brutal and thought provoking, but this is just an insult to many of us.

I just wonder what Ted is smoking lately so i don’t get any

Republicans and fronts like “Heritage Foundation” = “occupy your uterus”, Occupy your mortgage, Occupy Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran etc.

You might check out “Funny Times” newspaper. Ted is a regular contributor. “Funny Times” is a monthly tabloid sized collection of cartoons and humorous essays. While much of the content is politically neutral, when it is political it has a generally “progressive” slant.

Ted, I think you mean the Decemberists.

It would be something else entirely for the Decembrists to be playing.

Although, frankly, I’d probably pay good money to see both.

Most ignorant cartoon ever. Move on is not astro-turf, unlike the tea party which was started and bankrolled by the Koch brothers. I’ve been to some of the grass roots meetings and it was made up entirely of ordinary citizens who want to save our democracy and our constitution.Occupiers don’t want to get hurt. This is a last ditch effort to get heard and understood, for what the people want. Some people are so sure that they too, will become rich by voting for the corporate biggies and the extremists on the rightwing, that they don’t want to believe that there is a tiny minority with more wealth than can be imagined, don’t want them to join their small elite group.

y’all love to dis Rall…whatever he’s smokin’ at least he hasn’t dipped into the kool-aid that seems so popular with the know-it-all-blow-it-alls that are as similiary off-the-wall as Mssr. Rall

Ted R, are you breathing OK, getting enough of that good old O2 stuff to keep those little grey cells working in unison? Hmmmm? Because if you are you do not need a medical Doctor, you need a psychiatrist.
