The Boomer Man 1: I'm 45 years old and I'm a survivor of the holocaust. Man 2: 1999-45=1932 1945! Man 1: You see, I could easily have been born Jewish instead of Lutheran, European rather than American and earlier as opposed to later. So, the way I look at it, I barely escaped the chimneys at Dachau. I'm also a survivor, in a sense of the Great Depression. Through a twist of fate, I grew up middle-class and Suburban- but my chronological close call has made me every bit as much of a victim of poverty as the "real" poor! Man 2: What a pile! You could also consider yourself a survivor of less sexy tragedies, like the Turkish Genocide of the Armenians or the 13th-century sacking of Samarkand... or you could, alternatively, claim to be the scion of an incredibly rich family. Why can't you boomers just be yourselves? Man 1: Oh, come on- everybody's a victim of something or someone, and so are you! Man 2: Yeah, but I'll never survive you people.
