Alix really has to step up her game. She should watch “Ferris Bueller” for technique if she hopes to ditch school at the varsity level. As Ferris taught us, “The key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands. It’s a good non-specific symptom.”

I’d have to see bodily fluids to let my kids get away with that. But they were happy to go to school after a long summer. They were asking about it weeks ahead of time (and we start in August).

Re: temps – It is 58° outside right now just north of Detroit. A sweater would be nice.

Kids here are ready to be back in school. I should say most kids. We started in middle August here. Schools have a/c not all school buses.

My mom would sent us to school figuring if we were really sick, the school would call her to pick us up. Of course if there were bodily fluids coming out either end, we stayed home automatically.

Here in Montana, our temps have a 35-40 range in the late summer early fall. It started out at 48 & is supposed to get up to 85, layers baby, layers LOL

Funny thing is… now that school has started here in Fort Worth, TX the average high temp has dropped into the mid 80’s. Before this we had weeks and weeks of 100 to 108 for the highs. Sorry kids!!!

Maybe they moved to New England. Irene may have left but it’s still raining. I’ve been wearing sweaters all week.

Prior to the start of my senior year of high school, I broke my knee. I had to spend what would have been my first day getting arthroscopic surgery, and a further two weeks recovering.

I’ll be very happy when temps are low enough to use cross ventilation instead of HVAC equip. I LOVE to sleep with the window open!
