Better yet, if they like being creative, send them to figure-skating camp! That’s what my mom did with me four years ago when I was seven! Hey, how the heck was I supposed to know that [then] roller-skates leave skid marks on the kitchen floor?
She can’t afford summer camp, thats the problem. Their budget. Oh well, she could told them go outside. They could joined butch of bad seed kids instead.
Me and my sister never did anything like that. Our mom would never buy us anything. We had bikes and dad would have to repair tires. No electronics either. I think it’s great seeing the girls using their talents. At least it’s them. Me as an adult outside of gocomics I have books lots of books and reading one now close to half way.
Maybe the local parks & recreation department or county extension have some cheap classes they could take? Don’t know if they offer cooking, but it would come in handy.
When I was a kid they had supervised crafts once a week and a park nearby. The rest of the time there was the slide, swings, merry-go-round (manual). When my 4 kids were little we had pretty much the same stuff (provided by my parents). I aso did lots of crafts with them as well as teaching them practical stuff. And since the oldest 3 were boys, I was den mother too.
Now Val, be reasonable. They haven’t done any harm that I can see. The only reason you have to complain is shock (you’re not used to them doing things like that). Be happy that they’re creative.

I’m sure that once she has a minute to think about it, she’ll see that it really isn’t that bad.

yeah, the sheets look pretty good- & the kids need to learn how to clean up messes as part of “making their own fun”.

Yes, gorgeous! I wouldn’t mind having sheets done like that! And I sure think it’s a better occupation than watching TV.
Hmmm… and better than reading /entering comments on comic strips on the computer?
I think they could earn some money around the neighbourhood tie-dyeing other people’s stuff for them.
