Where’s she going to go — tough guy hunk Texas? (As is Elon Musk.) Out of the frying into the bonfire!
By the way, I am just made aware that three members of my family in San Antonio had Covid-19. My sister-in-law wrote us about it just now, after the three of them recovered — because they felt “ashamed.”
Despite all their precautions, including mask-wearing and trying carefully to social distance, and avoiding unnecessary trips, apparently my brother caught the virus at the local post office — no one other than him and the postal clerk wearing masks or staying apart. He brought it home and everyone fell ill. He was hospitalized and nearly died.
And here’s why “ashamed”: people in her area disdain others wearing masks. They harassed my family because of their mask-wearing, and even vandalized their mailbox. Yes, that behavior truly exists in large pockets of the country.
So don’t mock California because of failed safety precautions, as I understand this cartoonist to here be doing. This pandemic outrage has spread because ignorant people have not followed medical guidelines to the extent necessary to keep the virus from so effectively spreading. And thus business suffers because of that. More medical restrictions put in place, and business suffers further. People, follow the rules!
