Knowledge of the scandal has been around for quite a long time. What happened today (or yesterday) was that BSA filed for bankruptcy in order (i believe) to protect some of their assets from being seized by the men who they harmed. Though they spun it differently of course. Once the courts are done with them, I expect they’ll have enough left to go on. Though the Girl Scouts might be a better organization…
The reality that even if the number of abused were increased tenfold, that it would still mean 99.9% of scouts were never touched, does not excuse the silence from BSA these many years.
