You know, in the early strips, there was more focus on spiritual matters. Not frequently, but regularly. Rose would speak to God at her bedside, Jimbo would be seen praying, and we several times saw their pastor (who always wore his cassock—and a halo!) There was a Sunday strip where Jimbo and Rose were in the pew, and then suddenly everyone was a little child throughout the sanctuary, and Rose said, “It’s just faith kicking in!” Now it’s just Pasquale’s guardian angel.
