Not canned however, it’s the raw stuff.

A reality check is in order. What the study said was leafy vegetables had a higher rate of food poisoning than meat. It also doesn’t mean that there are significant problems with vegetables. What the cartoon ignores is that the food poisoning on the part of vegetables was TYPICALLY mild and passed quickly. Probably a poor choice of words (passed). Although we do have the occasional outbreak of salmonella or Listeria infection, our food industry is in pretty good shape, considering the amount of food processed for our population.

Establishing that too much sun is bad for us contrary to a healthy lifestyle of a vegetarian nature providing all that is physically necessary for us to thrive. No sarcasm intended, about half my family has constant problems with skin cancer, including melanoma. I’m 66 and when we were younger used to slather ourselves with lotions to promote tanning, we didn’t know any better. I know many, many people that are in fabulous physical condition that are vegetarians and vegans. One of my best friends has pictures going back to when he was a teenager and he is always “pale.” He maintains an almost perfectly sculpted body and has a total disdain for the idea of getting tan. In his shape he doesn’t need to anyway.

Just a note: the Dalai Lama has also recently pointed out that his doctors have added some “meat protein” to his diet to save his life, as there ARE some nutrients humans can’t get from pure vegetable matter. We ARE by design, omnivores, but there is a rational way for even “vegetarians” to get balance. Of course, if we were cats, we’d all be dead if “vegan”, but even my cat loves her little grass garden, and lettuce, etc..

Yup, I DO like, and eat my veggies, but fish, chicken, “dairy”, or steak, in moderation, are also necessary.

No, I’m a Libertarian. I was a democrat in the 60’s and 70’s, republican in the 80’s and half way through the 90’s. Then I saw the futility of the two political parties and realized they really weren’t that different in their actions, then became a libertarian. It makes much more sense to me.

This is one of the reasons we need more and more closely monitored by Food Safety departments.Things are not going to stay the same or get better in the toxic areas that make us sick or kills us.
