Where I grew up on the Texas coast, there were worse things than sharks. We swam with lots of sharks, mostly about four feet long. Even ten-foot hammerheads. They would brush up against you and could just be pushed out of the way. We didn’t worry about them. But let a man-o-war move in, and it was time to put some distance between us.
