People don’t have the extra energy to yell or wave their arms – they are using every last bit of what they have to try to stay alive. There are videos you can watch to see people who are actively drowning. The ones I have watched all were rescued, but you can see what it looks like before that. It’s scarily quiet.

I don’t think so. I think it’s just a silly spelling. They’re common in social media. “Birb” for bird is another one. I think it adds a feeling of cuteness or admiration? I’m interpreting from my Boomer perspective, so take this with a grain of salt.
I wonder if some people just don’t like admitting their reasons? It’s okay to tell things to your kids, though. Not everyone is rich, or has endless energy, or whatever.
