Have you ever seen the “Five year-old diet”? Guaranteed to lose weight: Just follow a 5 year old around and do everything they do… including eating (only) what they eat.
If Bert thinks the kid’s physical energy is draining now, just wait until he starts asking the how do you . . . or _ why does that . . ._ or what makes the world . . . questions.
I have a long-held theory that children don’t really have any more energy than adults. Theirs is just concentrated in a much smaller package. Have you ever watched a playground full of children? They run everywhere! WHAT is their hurry?!
My granddaughter likes me to lift her as she jumps, makes her feel like she jumped really high. She sometimes gives me several minutes rest before she backs up to me to be lifted again. It will be harder and harder when she hits four years.

Nelson should be reaching an age where he doesn’t need a push. It is a good occasion to learn a tiny bit of physics.

If you play it right, it can be mutually beneficial. Ten minutes is NOTHING in a child’s day. Build up your stamina, as long as you can.

Yup. All that energy wasted on kids when we grownups need it just to function in the morning! ha ha

If Nelson has so much energy, why isn’t he propelling himself on the swings, or better yet, pushing Earl?

You’re disgusting, Calvin.
