I am fed up with the garbage we got in congress. We need to get rid of them and bring in some free thinkers – not ones dancing to the pulls from the puppeteers. If it is an incumbent, vote for the other one. Hey, but we sheep don’t have the guts to do something like that now. Do we?
This toon perfectly demonstrates the hateful hypocrisy of Republicans.
There is one thing missing; the Democrats who are cheering Trump’s war crime. That includes Clinton, Kerry, Schumer, Bill Nelson, Nancy Pelosi, and probably many more. (Although, as war crimes go, it’s a misdemeanor, and was apparently designed to have no real effect).
And, for you Twitter fans, we can’t forget this; Sean Hannity in 2013: “Glad our arrogant Pres. is enjoying his taxpayer funded golf outing after announcing the US should take military action against Syria” Whoops! And, the airfield is back in action…
On term limits that several people are suggesting – Rather than term limits for the office itself, there should be term limits on being the Speaker, chair or member of a committee. That is where the power is – someone gets entrenched in a role that can bring projects back to their constituents. Instituting term limits for the office itself means you take people out even if their constituents want them. Plus money and lobbyists would be even more powerful than they are today.
.Plus the number of representatives should reflect the population instead of it being frozen at 435.
“This was a strike that was well-planned, well- executed, went right to the heart of the matter, which is using chemical weapons.”— Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, April 6, 2017
“I’ve concluded that being credible on Syria requires presenting a credible response, and having a credible strategy. And for all the reasons I’ve indicated, this proposal [to attack Syria for use of chemical weapons] just doesn’t pass muster.”— McConnell, Sept. 10, 2013
“These tactical strikes make it clear that the [Bashar] Assad regime can no longer count on American inaction as it carries out atrocities against the Syrian people.”— House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), April 6, 2017
“The best punishment for Assad’s war crimes is for the moderate elements of the opposition to prevail. But the President’s ill-conceived, half-hearted proposal will do little to help. It will make America look weak, when we need to be strong.”— Ryan, Sept. 11, 2013
The republican congress made sure to do everything in its power not to make that black guy look like he had any support. If he had gone to war, they would have gone crazy on his “illegal” war. He asked for Congressional approval, they said no. The Republicans had no political will to attack Syria.

You’re sure a two opposing party system is the best possible way to run a country?

Maybe we need to actually have a representative Congress. Increase the # of reps, reduce the pay, put term limits..

Compare and contrast (over time, that is):
“This was a strike that was well-planned, well- executed, went right to the heart of the matter, which is using chemical weapons.”— Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, April 6, 2017
“I’ve concluded that being credible on Syria requires presenting a credible response, and having a credible strategy. And for all the reasons I’ve indicated, this proposal [to attack Syria for use of chemical weapons] just doesn’t pass muster.”— McConnell, Sept. 10, 2013

And then consider:
