When gas price were around $4 a gallon, the prices of goods rose due to the increased cost of shipping to markets. My personal benchmark was 12 packs of soda. You used to get 4 for $10, sometimes 5 for $11. The price of a single 12 pack went up to $5. I stopped buying them. Then gas goes down, but not prices. My local store just had Coke for 3 for $14! How is that a sale?! The cheapest I see now is 3 for $10.
