Sorry gang, even in this horrible economic environment, you’re still better off with a degree. You still have a better chance at getting employment and it will still likely be better paying. That’s the stats. Having said that, the mistake students are making is going to places they can’t afford, not getting (or trying to get) all the grant money they can, and not working to earn money during school. You can’t pay back $200,000 in student loans on a BA! (BTW, this is all very relevant to us as our son is preparing for college).
