I haven’t worn a tie for years and in fact, don’t even own one. ( One of retirement’s many perks ). I think neckties and bow ties are the most useless, anachronistic pieces of male sartorial embellishment.
When I was working and wore suits and sports coats, I eschewed neckwear. I even had shirts for formal attire that required no tie.
It seems ridiculous to still be saddled with a 19th Century Victorian accouterment in the 21st Century that serves absolutely no purpose.
I’m anti-tie period !
