I would have used the word “Priorities”. Why, for example, did every news channel spend weeks showing the Jody Arias trial? If it was the only murder trial in the country at the time, I could understand it. But there are murders every day. Who decided we wanted “All Jody, All the Time”? It happens constantly: a child missing in Seattle is tragic, but there are children who go missing every day all over the country. Why do they go unmentioned?
And our own troops are being injured and dying every day in the Middle East. In my local paper today, there is not one word about the Middle East. Nothing.
What is wrong with us? What makes us overly concerned with one example, while we pay no attention to the hundreds or thousands of others?
