Maybe if Israel did NOT have nukes, there might not be a need for others in the region to feel a need for them? Considering which country has launched the most attacks on their neighbors “proactively” in “defensive offensives”, and of course land seizure, there is one particular seed of unrest, and it’s documented, not just “prejudice”.
Nukes? What nukes? Israeli policy is to neither confirm nor deny possession of nuclear weapons. Keep ‘em guessing… ;-)
When you’re in a tiny little country surrounded by hostile states and non-state entities having the sorts of weapons usually associated with states, you don’t have the luxury of waiting to strike a retaliatory blow. Leave us alone, and we will gladly leave our neighbors alone. However, if the level of threat against us becomes too great, expect us to act to defend ourselves.
A bit of Talmudic wisdom: If someone comes to kill you, kill them first.
Or, as they said in the Old West: “Shoot first, ask questions later.”
BTW - when is the US going to give back all the territory it stole from the natives (not that they left too many natives alive to give it back to…)? Plenty of other countries that are nagging Israel to give away land have similar questions to answer.
