Reagan would agree with him but this is not Reagan’s Republican Party, this is Fred Koch’s Birchers, run by his sons and cloaked as “Conservatives”.

Keeping in mind that the US is now a banana republic by income inequality standards. Furthermore, the rich USE more resources — including public resources — than the poor, but pay less, relatively speaking. How about FAIR taxes, eh? (No, not your beloved Fair Tax, ‘cause that ain’t fair.)

What bothers me about flat tax plans is usually a lack of detail. What income will be taxed, all income, or just payroll? I’d like to see numbers for a flat tax for all income with absolutely no exceptions, exemptions, or deductions. If the system were totally devoid of loop holes, I suspect the rich would pay more.

You should hear Elizabeth Warren on this. The rich use the roads built by taxpayers, the water and sewer systems built by taxpayers, benefit from being in a relatively safe country protected by armed forces and police and firefighters paid for by taxpayers (and they have more to protect), and live in a country with quite low tax rates for the rich and for businesses — lower than on the middle class, in fact.It is ABSOLUTELY true. And I am no Marxist, don’t use THAT lie for what I am talking about.

“Your generosity should not impoverish you.” That’s also in my holy book, the same one from which you quote. Note that there’s nothing in the Bible about the government impoverishing you at all; yet that’s the current state of affairs under King Barack.

Nice idea; but doesn’t go far enough. Needs to encompass the states as well as the feds.
