What’s a little weird about this cartoon is that the insurance companies WILL make a lot of money off the ACA. If the righties decide that it goes against their politics, the only option left would be single payer (which would be constitutional since we’ve already got it for those over 65) or letting people die in poverty in vast numbers (which I can’t believe the American public — outside the death party — will accept). And that puts insurance companies completely out of business.

We don’t need insurance for all, we need health care for all. The mandate just puts more money in the insurance companies pockets, much like Part D of the Medicare plan does. Single payer is the only answer left. Medicare for all. And tax the rich to pay for it. After all they didn’t get rich without screwing a whole bunch of little people in the first place. (Think 25 cents an hour workers chained to their work benches in China).

All institutions (including their phony elections) and all Democrats and Republicans support the rule of the rich. It’s not rocket science. Only when the working class takes state power (and that is on the agenda this decade as this Depression rolls along!) will rid the world of capitalism once and for all!

The simple fact Thomas, again, has refused to recuse himself from a case that would benefit him personally (spousal income) he should be impeached, and yes, removed.

I will be glad when all this posing is over and we at last join the rest of the developed world that gets good health care provided by the government.

Get that? This is the ONLY developed nation that dos NOT have government paid health care. To the rest of the world we look like barbarians.

Justice Thomas sould not be a sitting justice. He has too many strikes against him with the dirty works has done. I totally disrespect this very seriously bad justice. If that sort of thing is found to be against the constitution then the must add medicare and social security as they as more in the same category, and so are automobile proof of insurance. This is NOT a new, never before seen law.

matt , you forgot to name the man in the middle, he is the 49%, not the rich 1%, not the 50% that pay no taxes, the 49ers who balance this whole nightmare

Gresch: VA just pays “fair market” bid price for drugs, don’t think that pharmaceutical companies are losing anything in reality. Also, VA has been responsible (well I guess we can thank "W"’s wars) for tremendous improvements in prosthetic limbs, along with military research. If our system actually DID adapt a version of VA and Medicare, covering all, I don’t think we’d see any decline in research and in fact, might see improvements, at lower cost. again. Simple fact, when “profit margins”, especially unregulated profiteering, are reduced to “reasonable”. costs DO go down, sometimes quite dramatically. The proof also is in the drop in price when drugs go “generic” after copyrights expire, which is LONG after research and development costs have LONG been “paid off”.

Are you trying to make a point and just can’t keep your thoughts going in one direction, or intentionally wasting our time with long rambling posts?

you are aware, no, that VA and DOD are separate agencies? most physicians and nurses at VA facilities have never been in the military let alone trained thereby…and as far as free medical care? ask any veteran what’s been “paid” for VA benefits…

I couldn’t tell that the post made no sense until I had already wasted my time reading it.And what is your point with this?“So…what is not related to universal health care…saynothing?”Lots of things? You want a list, or what? Well at least it was a short comment; thank you for that.
